DJJ COMMISSIONER AVERY D. NILES WELCOMES GEORGIA VETERANS
Welcome to the DJJ Veterans Career Page. As Commissioner of the Department of Juvenile Justice I personally invite you to look into a State of Georgia juvenile corrections career designed to help bring meaning and structure to Georgia’s challenged youth. If you’re a United States Veteran, we’re looking for candidates like you who know the importance of leadership, respect, and respect chain of command. We need experienced men and women who thrive in a structured environment, who pay attention to rules and detail, and whose principles promote a personal code of honor and ethics.
At DJJ we support Governor Nathan Deal’s statewide initiative to ensure veterans can transition smoothly into Georgia’s civilian workforce. The Department of Juvenile Justice has 28 secure facilities around the state and most every location offers career opportunities in facility support services ranging from Law Enforcement, Health Care and Food Services to Administration, Behavioral Health, Education and more.
The State Workforce Investment Board recently voted to grant top workforce service priority to Georgia Veterans and their spouses. But if you’re a Veteran, you may already be aware that the Department of Juvenile Justice has been hard at work recruiting top tier career candidates like you to fill our ranks with the special skills and experience you bring to any workforce.
As a proud employer-member of the “Hire a Georgia Veteran” campaign, this agency has signed the “Pledge to Support Georgia’s Veterans” to provide enhanced hiring opportunities to Veterans. Just ask one of our recruiters about the special Military Salary Increased Incentive DJJ offers to current and former military service members who have served on active duty. Read more about this exciting incentive on our webpage below.
At DJJ, we’re glad to have you home. Come see us about a job wherever you live in Georgia. Then, come join our Team!
